Yesterday we talked about Scripture’s guidance to us to Fear the Lord and ONLY The Lord because, as Proverbs 1:7 tells us, “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.” We also talked about what “fear” should mean to us as Christ-followers. We should have a deep reverence and respect for our Creator and that reverence should lead us to live lives which are pleasing to Him and bring Him joy.
Scripture tells us that not the degree of faith we have, but rather the object of that faith which is important. In the same manner, it is not the degree of fear we have, but the object of that fear which is important. Jesus told us in Matthew 10:28 that we need not fear man, but only God. The good news is that it is ok to live your life in fear…as long as that fear is of God alone. So this week when you pray, pray in faith, but also pray in fear of the Almighty God who holds your destiny in His hands. God is in Control! 🙂
